Robert W. Naef, III, MD
Maternal-Fetal Medicine Specialist in Jackson, MS
“I first realized that I was interested in medicine when I was exposed to intense medical care for football injuries. Later, I was further encouraged by an acquaintance who happened to be the author of one of the most-used physiology textbooks. In medical school, I found myself thoroughly attracted to the challenges of problem-solving and the intense personal regards of helping people overcome their health problems. During my training, I realized that helping take care of pregnant women was the most rewarding, because of the joys that come with bringing a new child into the world.”
“Today, as a specialist in high-risk pregnancies, my mission is to help provide these same joys for women whose pregnancies are at risk. After more than two decades practicing maternal-fetal medicine, I’ve seen many thousands of cases, a wide range of conditions and situations and women from every walk of life. In addition to informing my medical approach and building a deep repertoire of knowledge, these experiences have taught me that no two cases are exactly alike. What every high-risk pregnancy does have in common is a need for focused, compassionate care and a highly trained, experienced specialist who will work together with patients, their families and their doctor for a successful delivery and a healthy, happy child.”
